There are many medical aid schemes to choose from. Some are listed below. Generally schemes have several offerings varying from budget to top of the range. Needless to say, the budget offerings are the least expensive, and the top of the range, the most expensive. The same applies to benefits - the more expensive the plan, the better the benefits.
Some medical aid schemes offer a lot of added extras like cheap movie tickets and gym discounts. We are sure that some medical aids are better than others, but it also true (in general) that you get what you pay for. Be wary of the words "unlimited benefits". Maybe not always, but certainly often, the fine print clarifies that benefits are unlimited up to a certain point! When choosing a medical aid scheme, shop around before making your final choice. Ask a LOT of questions and get answers in writing. "You said" will count for little when the chips are down. Changing medical aid schemes is not easy - so try and make the right decision first time. And, one last thing - think ahead. Unfortunately there will come a time (when you are older) when your medical aid scheme and its benefits will be GREATLY needed. It is then that the decisions you make now will come back to haunt you, or reward you. |
